Town-level POI names and grid coordinates for Rosewood proper are still on our in-game confirmation list. Community base tours and the community wiki disagree on what to call the southeastern lakeside site, so this page names the claim rather than asserting a site name.
Where Rosewood Sits Cross-Verified
Rosewood is the quiet rural town in Knox County’s north-west, and it was in the first wave of Build 42 town reworks — its interiors and layouts were redone in the 42.20 art pass, together with Riverside, West Point, Muldraugh, Fallas Lake, Ekron and Dixie. Both community write-ups lead with the same character: suburban spread, lower pressure per block, and loot that rewards routing rather than rushing.
| Aspect | What the sources say |
|---|---|
| Character | Suburban spread; lower yard pressure; slower loot-per-minute unless you route it |
| Loot focus | Fire, medical and school-adjacent buildings — the best medical hauls in the starter towns, plus moderate food |
| Best for | Solo runs, first-week learning, calm carpentry practice; medical and first-aid stockpiling |
| B42 changes | 42.20 interior/layout rework; old B41 route videos no longer match |
Rosewood is one of the eight towns in our spawn-town comparison, where both sources rate it Easy.
The Southeastern Lake Claim Cross-Verified
The long-standing community pick here is the lake site southeast of town, prized for self-sufficiency rather than floor space. Two written sources describe that southeastern spot from different angles:
- One 42.20 guide lists a lake guest-house / youth-camp site southeast of Rosewood for water, fishing, hunting and foraging self-sufficiency — and warns that securing it is a big cleanup job at the start.
- The community wiki’s town write-up points at the same direction for base-friendly footprints and larger homes, while its base ranking keeps the lake site at the top and credits it with a pre-existing forge and anvil.
Put together: the direction is agreed, the site name is not — “island”, “guest house” and “youth camp” are different labels for what may or may not be the same place. Treat the exact site as unconfirmed until you stand on it. The forge workflow itself is in the blacksmithing guide, and the full base comparison sits in the Knox County map hub.
What Is Still Unverified Deep-Tested
Two claims you will see repeated elsewhere are not corroborated by the written sources above, so this page does not assert them:
- Named alternative bases — the “five bases that are not the fire station” tour is a community video, and the creator’s own introduction cites a conflicting build number. Its sites have no official names.
- The fire station as the group default — widely repeated in community talk, but the two written sources here describe Rosewood’s loot character rather than ranking buildings.
Both are on our in-game confirmation list, along with grid-level loot routes for the town proper.
